Microscopical rocks examinations in geology and mineralogy often require the production of thin sections e.g. the samples have to be ground up to a stage of light permeability. A final thickness of 20-30 μm of the samples have to be reached without altering them. Machine types are adapted especially for the requirements of the dip solution- and thin section technology. Thus by grinding they cover the needs for preparation of a microscopical thin film section probe.
